FLO-CERT GmbH currently has a vacancy in its TRADE CERTIFICATION DEPARTMENT for a customer orientated, service driven, energetic new staff member with an interest in FAIRTRADE:
Trade Certification Manager (f/m).
Function
Manage FLO-CERT’s Business Unit: Trade Certification of International Operators.
Core Responsibilities
• Implementation of all FLO-Cert guidelines regarding inspection and certification of Traders.
• Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of FLOCert’s activities concerning inspection and certification.
• Manage processing of new applications for certification.
• Manage audit and certification process of operators.
Tasks
• Manage the Business Unit’s budget in cooperation with the Trade Certification Director.
• Prepare an annual business plan based on the budget allocated to the business unit.
• Perform annual training need assessments of the team and communicate training needs to the Trade Certification Director.
• Supervise the Certification Analyst/Assistance.
• Report the key performance indicators (monthly figures) of the Business Unit to the Director of Trade Certification monthly.
• Manage the inspection and certification process of Traders (initial and renewal audits, follow up of pre-conditions and corrective actions, invoicing etc.).
• Manage the processing of new applications for certification.
• Carry out regular training of auditors.
• Ensure communication with certified and applicant Traders.
• Ensure communication with FLO National Initiatives and FLO e.V. regarding certification decisions.
• Carry out random quality control inspections by accompanying auditors in the field.
• Manage the quality control of audit reports and prepare the respective certification decisions.
• Contribute actively to the internal consultation processes for new certification policies within FLO-CERT.
• Contribute actively to the development and improvement of Trade Certification Inspectors tools and templates (Inspectors Manual, Reporting Formats).
• Follow the FLO-CERT standard operation procedures as well as the working instructions regarding inspection and certification of producers.
• Contribute to projects as team member or when appointed as team leader.
Reporting to
Trade Certification Director.
Required Qualifications
Necessary:
• University level education (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (Business, Agronomy, Law, Economics etc.).
• At least 3 years experience in Certification Systems (e.g. Fairtrade, organic, FSC, MSC, SA8000, ISO 14001, Eurepgap etc.).
• Fluency in English oral and written.
• Familiar with audit and certification processes.
• Experience in managing a team in the central office and on distance.
• Excellent communication skills, team player, facility in dealing with different cultures.
• Computer skills MS Office, Database.
• Motivation for Fairtrade.
Advantageous:
• Fluency in French, Spanish, German or Portuguese.
• Knowledge in accounting and billing.
Terms and Conditions
• Job Share: 100%.
• Position is based in the FLO-CERT Office in Bonn, Germany. Start of employment: As soon as possible.
• The office language is English.
• Salary is paid according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement Category (Tarifvertrag Gross- und Aussenhandel, Nordrhein-Westfalen), Salary Range VIa plus an attractive benefits package.
