FLO-CERT GmbH currently has a vacancy in its Producer Certification department for a:
Certification Manager
for the Producer Certification Team Africa (f/m).
Function
Manage FLO-Cert’s Business Unit: Producer Certification Africa with Operators in 26 countries all over the continent.

Core Responsibilities
• Implementation of all FLO-Cert guidelines regarding inspection and certification of producers.
• Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of FLO-Cert’s activities concerning inspection and certification.
• Manage processing of new applications for certification in Africa.
• Manage inspection and certification process of operators in Africa.
• Manage Selection, Training, Evaluation of Auditors Pool for Africa.

Tasks
• Manage the Business Unit’s budget in cooperation with the Producer Certification Director.
• Supervise the Certification Analyst/Assistant for Local Coordinators.
• Coordinate and supervise the regional certification work in Africa.
• Responsible for reporting the key performance indicators (monthly figures) of the Business Unit Africa.
• Manage the inspection and certification process of producers in Africa (initial and renewal inspections, follow up of pre-conditions and corrective actions, invoicing etc.).
• Manage the processing of new applications for certification.
• Carry out regular training of inspectors.
• Manage the quality control of inspection reports and prepare the respective certification decisions.
• Manage the consultation and feedback process for the improvement of Fairtrade Standards.

Reporting to
Producer Certification Director.

Required Qualifications
Necessary:
• University level education (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (Business, Agronomy, Law, Economics etc.).
• At least 3 years experience in Certification Systems (e.g. Fairtrade, organic, FSC, MSC, SA8000, ISO 14001, Eurepgap etc).
• At least two years experience in inspection or consultancy work in African producer countries in the agricultural sector.
• Fluency in English and French oral and written.
• Experience in managing a team in the central office and on distance.
• Excellent communication skills, team player, facility in dealing with different cultures.
• Computer skills MS Office, Database.
• Motivation for Fairtrade.

Advantageous:
• Proficient knowledge of German.
• Knowledge in accounting and billing.
• Environmental background.

Terms and Conditions
• Job Share: 100%.
• Position is based in the FLO-Cert Office in Bonn, Germany.
• Start as soon as possible.
• The office language is English.
• Salary is paid according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement Category (Tarifvertrag Gross- und Aussenhandel, Nordrhein-Westfalen), Salary Range VI a plus an attractive benefits package.
