To bring direct bookshop experience to the deliberations of the volunteer board of Housmans Bookshop Ltd, which is one of the longest lasting radical/peace movement bookshops in Britain.

Housmans Bookshop Ltd. has existed for over forty years selling books, pamphlets, magazines and stationery in support of a wide range of radical causes as well as its core role of promoting the peace movement. At a time when many such bookshops have gone out of business Housmans struggles on despite the competition of the big chains. We are in the midst of an attempt to refurbish the shop and reach out to new customers throughout sympathetic movements. A new board of hardworking volunteers, and the paid staff, are bringing new life into the shop, but currently need extra expertise with direct bookshop experience. Volunteers are sought with such experience to attend occasional meetings and to give advice and support to the board.
