QUEST source and manage worthwhile projects in Africa & Latin America, for gap years, sabbaticals, diving trips, short ethical holidays and tailor-made group trips. We have been in operation since 1996 and are based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

QUEST are passionate about ethical and responsible travel and work with project partners (charities, NGOs, local communities) to ensure that the work we do is needed to improve lives and does not take away employment opportunities from local people.

All the projects we work on are supported through the Quest Charitable Trust for a minimum of 5 years, ensuring that a difference is still being made long after QUEST volunteers have returned home.

There are now plenty of companies offering gap-year expeditions and many of them have based their ideas on our own, which were unique when QUEST began eleven years ago.

QUEST are not about providing a quick fix like short term projects or sending groups overseas to just paint murals on classroom walls. Our projects have clear short, medium and long term physical and financial goals, and we always achieve them. We don’t just paint murals, we build entire schools, provide the equipment and then sponsor children and teachers to make them work.

What continues to make QUEST unique is this long term commitment to projects, having worked on 14 different projects across Africa and Latin America. We believe that our single most significant achievement is to have consistently provided the largest donation per volunteer in the industry, going directly to our overseas projects. As a result we raised £1,000,000 over ten years and continue to raise further funds. Our philosophy has always been to commit to projects for a minimum of 5 years in conjunction with our long-standing project partners. All our volunteer donations are paid via The Quest Charitable Trust to ensure that they are spent in the right places, in the most effective way.

QUEST staff all have personal experience of the countries you will be exploring and regularly visit our projects to keep up-to-date with developments. Their dedication to the fragile habitats, endangered species and threatened communities we work with gives them an unparalleled reputation.

Did you know that Quest was shortlisted for 'The Best Volunteering Organisation' in the Responsible Tourism Awards 2006?
