David
Undergraduate student

I decided to do a degree in development studies because I was curious about global issues and wanted to do something that would challenge me. Looking back I can say that my expectations were exceeded.

The quality of the teaching, and the sheer range of topics covered - from forest management to feminist theory - meant that I was rarely bored. In particular, the wonderful sense of community and esprit de corps within the School of Development Studies all helped me grow in confidence and introduced me to some fantastic people.

Studying international development has made me keenly aware of the social, political and economic and environmental forces that are transforming our world.

More importantly, it has also given me a real sense of personal responsibility to continue to learn and share what I have learned, in order to make a positive difference. I cannot recommend this course highly enough.
