Event title: Embercombe’s University Student Programme “Catalyst” Description: Are you looking at the world asking ‘What can I do?’, ‘How can I make a difference with my life, with my career?’ and ‘How can I contribute to a more just and sustainable future?’ Embercombe, a charity and social enterprise, explores such questions with a large variety of people, ranging from students of all ages, corporate executives and businesses through to disadvantaged young people and other individuals, with the mission to inspire action for a sustainable world. In particular, the University Student Programme “Catalyst” assists students and recent graduates to explore how to become catalysts for positive change. In talks and workshops in UK universities, as well as on a five-day residential programme at Embercombe’s small-holding with conference facilities, people are invited on a journey of personal and leadership development that is challenging, fun and empowering. The next residential programme runs in the Easter break (4-9th April 2009), and talks or workshops can be booked for career fairs, independent events, or as an experimental contribution to certain modules. Participants of the workshop, the taster session of the residential programme, have said: “The workshop made me think about some big questions in life and where I want mine to go and how to spend it.” “I enjoyed most the space to reflect on my life and where I want to be. I have been challenged here to fulfil my potential.” “Very inspirational.” “I realised my passion can make a difference.” Contact: Johannes Moeller, university student programme manager, Embercombe, johannes@embercombe.co.uk, 01647 252983.Website: www.embercombe.co.uk/catalyst
