I desperately need to get some voluntary experience for my CV but I am also skint. What can I do?

If it’s not too late, try and get some experience whilst you’re still a student. A couple of hours a week should fit round your studies and any part-time work. If you’re about to graduate, consider working part-time whilst volunteering and ask the organisation if they can pay your travel and lunch costs.

You may also be entitled to benefits whilst volunteering — visit your local Citizens Advice Bureau for information. Finally, if you have secretarial or administrative skills and live near London, there are often temping jobs available in charities that can lead on to other things.
