Getting a job

HELP! I still don’t have a job.

The most important thing is to stay motivated! It can take a while to land your dream job but that’s because ethical careers are so rewarding and highly sought-after and believe me, it will be worth all the effort in the end. Make sure that you visit all the links on the website and sign up for job bulletins offered by recruitment agencies and specialist websites for the area of work you are interested in. Also don’t neglect the usual sources like The Guardian on Wednesday, your local paper and sending speculative CVs.

There are lots of things you can do to keep motivated. Find a mentor — a friend or relative who can advise you and help with your applications, join a local campaigning organisation to meet new people and learn about the issues and do some temporary work to give you some cash whilst you job hunt.

Finding any kind of career can be difficult, whether ethical or mainstream, but you will get there in the end. See this time waiting as something to be used positively and really decide what it is you want to do with your life.
